It is our goal to find loving, safe, secure, responsible, "forever" homes for all the kitties in Ms. Kitty’s Cat Rescue, Inc. A good home situation is especially important because so many of our cats have had difficult lives. Having a cat takes a commitment of time, energy, love, attention, and finances. This commitment extends throughout the lifetime and duration of the cat’s natural life, which can be 20 years or more. A cat will need good (non-human) food, clean water daily, an indoor only home with plenty of scratching posts and places to hide, medical attention as the need arises, and social interaction for the duration of his life. For this reason, Ms. Kitty’s Cat Rescue, Inc., reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone who does not meet this criteria and whom we feel will not be able to fulfill the cat’s needs.

By signing this agreement the you are acknowledging that the above information is true and complete and you further agree to the following:

By signing this agreement the you are acknowledging that the above information is true and complete and you further agree to the following:

2) I WILL NOT permit my cat to run at large and/or become a public nuisance in violation of city and/or state laws.

3) I WILL NOT, under any circumstances, use (or allow anyone else to use) physical punishment or touch my cat in anger, nor will I allow children under the age of 6 years old handle my cat in an inhumane or inappropriate way. I understand that most behavioral problems encountered with my cat can be handled by understanding the reasons why my cat is behaving in the unwanted manner. I understand that a cat will use his litter box without formal training, and that when a cat does not use his litter box, it can indicate a medical problem. I will seek help from my veterinarian or other qualified professional should improper or inappropriate elimination problems occur.

4) I WILL make sure my cat, even if he stays indoors at all times, is microchipped and wears a cat safe collar with proper identification (i.e. owners’ name and phone number on a collar.) I further understand that it is mandatory that my cat be provided with a breakaway collar. It is highly recommended that animals be microchipped as a means of identification, but understand that the microchip is not a substitute for visible identification, such as collars with names on them. Tags on collars are discouraged because they are easily caught in fences, trees, etc., and may pose a danger to the cat.

5) If I find that I no longer can care for my cat, I will not attempt to place my cat in another home; rather, I will return the cat to Ms. Kitty’s Cat Rescue, Inc.

If I fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions set forth within this agreement, Ms. Kitty’s Cat Rescue, Inc., may recover as liquidated damages and not as penalty the sum of $100.00, in addition to the right to recover possession of the animal, along with any and all additional legal fees at the rate of $150.00 per hour, plus all reasonable costs.
